Vern Turchyn

President

Vern Turchyn is the President of the company and a recognized forage expert with over 30 years of experience in Southern Alberta’s agriculture industry. He specializes in forage systems, pasture management, and crop planning for both dryland and irrigated operations. Vern leads the team with a focus on serving growers through integrity, innovation, and practical agronomic solutions. A proud father of 14, he brings the same dedication to family and community as he does to the farm.

Brandon Turchyn

General Manager

Brandon is the General Manager and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), responsible for overseeing daily operations, financial strategy, and long-term planning. With experience across several agricultural companies, he brings a strong mix of business insight and a deep appreciation for the farming community. Brandon values building strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and local partners. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.

Peter de Gorter

Research & Demonstration Plot Lead

Peter de Gorter is the Research and Demonstration Plot Lead, bringing over 30 years of experience in the livestock and agricultural industries. He oversees seeding, maintenance, and data collection for demo and research trials, ensuring accurate results that help guide smarter farm decisions. Peter specializes in evaluating forage options for both nutritional value and cost-effectiveness. Off the field, he enjoys fly fishing—a peaceful way to recharge and stay connected to nature.

Owen Cordes

Junior Sales Agronomist

Owen Cordes is a Junior Sales Agronomist who supports farmers with practical, field-based solutions for improving crop performance and productivity. With 3 years of experience in seed production and a background in GIS and Production Horticulture, he blends precision tools with real-world agronomy. Owen works closely with growers to guide seed selection, crop management, and harvest planning. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and golfing—bringing the same energy to the outdoors as he does to the farm.

Joaquin Javier Balce

Junior Sales Agronomist

Joaquin Javier Balce is a Junior Sales Agronomist who works closely with growers to provide practical advice on seeding, fertilization, crop protection, and harvest planning. With 2 years of agronomic experience and a background in Agricultural Science and Horticulture, he combines field expertise with technical know-how. Joaquin also supports trial setups, crop scouting, and dealer collaboration to strengthen on-farm results. Outside of work, he enjoys road trips with his wife, catching movies, golfing, and staying active with billiards and swimming.

Chloe Turchyn

Administrative Support & Agronomic Assistant

Chloe Turchyn supports both office operations and agronomic fieldwork, helping coordinate schedules, manage records, and assist with scouting and trial plot setups. Raised on a farm in Southern Alberta, she brings a deep-rooted passion for agriculture and a strong work ethic to every task. Chloe is currently training to become a dental hygienist, balancing her interest in health care with her hands-on role in the ag industry. Her connection to family, faith, and the land shapes her approach to both work and life.

Kimberly Hopkins

Administration Assistant

Kimberly serves as the Administration Assistant, managing accounts payable/receivable, inventory tracking, health and safety, and calendar management. She handles data entry, filing, and record organization, while also preparing invoices, tracking payments, and managing office expenses. Kimberly coordinates with vendors and staff, supports payroll, orders supplies, schedules meetings, and ensures smooth office operations by answering phones and handling mail. With three years of administrative experience supporting finance, operations, and health and safety departments, combined with over 15 years in retail management, she brings a wealth of organizational and leadership skills to her role. Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys camping, gardening, and spending quality time with family. She actively leads the youth group at her church, has a passion for animals—sharing her home with one cat and two dogs—and explores her creativity through watercolor painting.

Brian Lumsden

Operations Coordinator

Brian serves as the Operations Coordinator, overseeing seed inventory, stock, and supply orders to ensure production needs are met. He manages freight logistics, liaises with suppliers, and keeps customers updated on deliveries. Brian processes sales orders, supervises order fulfillment, and maintains product quality through accurate inventory records. He supervises staff, ensuring safe operation of equipment such as mixers, augers, and forklifts while upholding facility standards. Collaborating with teams and vendors, he tracks order trends, maintains records, and attends trade shows as needed. With 10 years of logistics experience specializing in inventory and supply chain management, plus six years in agriculture focusing on seed treatment and cleaning, Brian brings expertise in merchant coordination and process optimization. Outside of work, he enjoys playing strategy and adventure video games, tinkering with tech projects, and exploring new trails through camping and hiking. Brian gardens with enthusiasm, growing various plants and experimenting with sustainable techniques, while valuing community connections and sharing his passion for nature and creativity.
