      TriCal Triticale

      • TriCal Superior Forage has been the leader in developing improved forage triticale in North America. 

      • Excellent forage yield tonnage - often 30% in excess of forage barley 

      • Superior leafiness for high forage quality unlike traditional grain varieties 

      • Awnless or Short Awned varieties for reduced livestock health issues 

      • Awnless nature also make TriCal varieties well suited to greenfeed production 

      • Their facultative nature allows TriCal varieties to be planted early or harvested late with little or no frost damage risk 

      • Early planting allows full season varieties to take advantage of early season moisture in drought prone areas

      • TriCal Forage Triticale should be harvested either at: 

        • Preboot - regrowth for multiharvest or for rotational grazing

        • Boot stage - good yield, exceptional dairy quality forage 

        • Soft dough stage - maximum yield

      • Planting rate for TriCal products: 

        • Dryland - 900,000 live seeds/acre 

        • Irrigation - 1,100,000-1,200,000 live seeds/acre
